Our T-shirt quilts
You supply the shirts and tell us what you want and we'll do the rest. So
dig out those "special" shirts you have been saving and just can't part
with and we'll return a quilt you will love filled with all those memories. Sizes
range from throws to XL-King and we offer two styles.
Traditional Style
All the shirt blocks are cut the same size. From 12 inches to 16 inches.
Variable Style
The shirt blocks are cut in various sizes. This will allow different
size logos to be accommodated, including arm and pocket designs.
What goes into making the quilt
Your quilt will be done individually, arranged and sewn personally. Please
do not cut shirts apart. Perhaps you already have, and if so we can
work around that.
The T-shirt should also be laundered and in good
condition.
Whatever was there for stains or marks will remain, but
they do add character and good memories. We can use the front, back,
sleeve or pocket design. You should mark the design of the shirt that
you want used if there is more than one. Otherwise we will choose what
to use. We use a stabilizer on the back of the shirt block after we
have cut it precisely. Sashings are then added, if you choose. A sashing
is fabric that separates the T-shirt blocks from each other on the quilt
top. A border will be added on the sides, top and bottom of the quilt. Low
to medium loft polyester batting will be used unless another kind is requested. The
quilt top, batting and backing fabric will get sandwiched together, be machine
quilted and the binding attached. A label will be added to the quilt
(unless requested not to) and if you want anything special printed on it
please let us know.
Please contact us for pricing.
Fabrics
All the fabric used will be 100% cotton and most will be solid
colors. If
anything other than a cotton is used it will be a subtle calico, unless
we hear differently from you. Tell us what color you prefer and we
will try to accommodate. Otherwise we will pick colors that are
pleasingly complimentary to the shirt blocks. That includes sashings,
backings and bindings.
Quilting
The quilting is done on a longarm machine using a medium to large meander
or a design that has more open space within the pattern. We request that
half down be paid at time of ordering and balance due before delivery.
